A little about me, in the form of a verb list.
to photograph (daily)
to be in the moment
to get closer
to be in wonderment
to drink (preferably fine bourbon)
It was my good fortune to be born and raised in “El Barrio” aka Spanish Harlem, NYC, in 1960. I came to photography by way of object based design and installation art. I substituted the insularity of my previous studio practice while dismissing the vagaries and pretensions of the art world industrial complex, for a more honest and vastly more personal engagement with my city and the world at large. I attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn from 1978-1982 on a scholarship. Thankfully I still reside in NYC, alive, engaged and photographing daily. Welcome!
